Should I Get My Appliance Repaired or Replaced in Fountainebleau, FL?
From keeping your food fresh to preparing home-cooked meals, and from laundering your clothing and linens to cleaning your dishes, it’s remarkable how much you rely on your household appliances. Like any component of your Miami-Dade County home, however, even the most durably constructed appliances from the most reputable manufacturers can experience issues. Regular use and age can lead to wear and tear that can impact the function of these all-important machines.
If your dryer is drying your laundry as efficiently, your oven keeps burning your dinners, the inside of your freezer is covered in frost, or you’re having issues with any other appliance that powers your Miami-Dade County home, you’re probably asking: “Should I get my appliance repaired or replace it?”
By considering some key factors, you’ll be able to determine whether you should schedule an appointment with a Fountainebleau, FL appliance repair specialist or if you should start shopping for a new one.
Is it Really Broken?
First and foremost, you want to make sure the appliance in question is really malfunctioning or that something else is causing the issue. While this might seem pretty obvious, it’s surprising how many Miami-Dade County residents replace their appliances without confirming if they’re really past the point of no return. Make sure it’s plugged in, check the circuit breaker to make sure that it hasn’t tripped, if the appliance has filters (a dryer, for example) check to make sure that they aren’t clogged, and if it has a temperature setting (your fridge or freezer), make sure that it’s properly set. If it’s a simple fix, you can make the repair yourself or contact a Fountainebleau, FL appliance repair professional.
How Old is the Appliance?
Appliances aren’t meant to last forever. If you’ve had the machine in question for a long time and it’s nearing the end or has exceeded its life expectancy, replacing it is probably a better idea than repairing it. However, if it’s still relatively new, contact a Fountainebleau, FL appliance repair specialist. A home appliance repair expert may be able to replace the damaged components so that you can get a few more years out of the machine.
What’s the Cost of Repairing vs. Replacing?
Generally speaking, you should contact a Fountainebleau, FL appliance repair company if replacing it would cost more than fixing it. For instance, if your refrigerator needs a $75 repair, spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a new one doesn’t make sense. If, however, a Miami-Dade County home appliance repair company tells you it will cost $700 or more to repair it, it’s probably time to replace your fridge.

Fontainebleau is a census-designated place (CDP) in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 59,764 at the 2010 census.
The mainland neighborhood takes its name from the famed Miami Beach resort. In 1970, Ben Novack, the Fontainebleau’s original owner, grew jealous of Doris and Alfred Kaskel’s plans in Doral and wanted to create his own planned golf course, resort, and community. It was to be known as Fontainebleau Park. Novack, however, soon fell into financial problems (and the Fontainebleau Park would play a part in the hotel’s foreclosure in 1977). The company Trafalgar Developers would go on to develop the community under the ‘Fontainebleau’ name, but no link to the famed hotel would ever be mentioned in or promotional materials when the community opened in the ’70s.
The community of Fontainebleau Park itself was a collection of sub-divided villages around 2-18 holes golf courses. (East and West course now closed and built upon). The original sales office for Trafalgar Development was located at what is now the Fontainebleau Office Park located at the main Fontainebleau Park entrance and West Flagler Street. Fontainebleau Park West’s sales office (West of N.W. 97th Ave) at what is now ‘Soleil Condominiums’. While the Eastern half of the community was heavily designed for condominiums and apartments, the Western portion of the community included ‘Village Homes’, Single-Family Homes, ‘Garden Homes’, and Townhomes.
